The English Translation of Chinese Menu and Its Cultural Connotation from the Perspective of Pragmatic Equivalence——The Case of English Translation of Chinese Menu

TENG Yu-qing(Nangjing University of Technology,Nanjing 211816,China)  
This paper tries to explore the principles and methods of the translation of Chinese menu from the perspective of pragmatic equivalence.It reflects the differences between Chinese and western catering cultures and probes into the underlying cause for these differences,which is helpful for studying the problems about the English translation of Chinese menu both theoretically and practically so as to improve cross-cultural communication.
