Modern Rebirth of Traditional Crafts-fieldwork at Wang Xingmao's Sauce and Pickle Plant

In order to deeply analyze the brewing skills of the hand-made sauce and pickles,the characteristics of the products and the brewing process and tools of Wang Xingmao's Sauce and Pickle Plant,an intangible cultural heritage of the Huai'an City in Jiangsu Province,this paper combines the research results of those predecessors and puts them into the perspective of visual communication design to study the theories and strategies for an integrated development of traditional hand workshops. Through a cross-border integration in and an all-round study of the effects of the visual communication design on the packaging design of the handmade products from Wang Xingmao 's,borrowing from Kikkoman of Japan and Sanhesimei of Yangzhou,a new theory is achieved based on practice in design.
