Chinese Dialect Identification Using Classifier Integration Method

This paper presents a novel Chinese dialect identification method to solve the poor decision ability existed in most dialect identification system.The new method firstly uses Gaussian mixture models and n-gram language models to produce a set of classifiers.Then the results of identification in each classifier are used to weighed voting to produce dialect category.The experimental results show that the new method not only improves the performance of the system greatly,but also solves the contradiction between the training data and the number of parameters in models.
