Observation on the micro area of carbon nanotubes/SBS modified asphalt and study on the blending mechanism

Various modified asphalt was prepared with different additives of carbon nanotube and 4% SBS.The performance of the modified asphalt was obtained by conventional methods.The microstructure of the modified asphalt was observed using fluorescence microscope.The structure characteristics of each part was determined by image analysis.The relation between the macro performance of asphalt and the micro structure of asphalt was summarized and analyzed.The results show that the micro structure parameters and modifier(carbon nanotubes,SBS) addition and macro performance index has good relationship.According to the observed structure,further improved modified asphalt can be prepared.
