Research on HCM2000's delay calculation modified model of signalized intersection

Delay is the critical index used for evaluating the signal timing plan of intersection.The present USA HCM2000's model is a very traditional delay model.Because of the changes of different regional traffic conditions,the delay in different regional application will have different errors on calculation results and the measured values.The HCM2000's model is verified with the delay data obtained through using Point Samples delay algorithms and surveyed in some intersections in Harbin.The result shows that there is a large disparity between the HCM2000's models and the measured data.Thereby,the HCM2000's modified model is established with the measured data by SPSS software for calculating the delay of intersection which operates in different status.The test values satisfy the Harbin's traffic condition.All studies provide a suitable delay model for evaluating the traffic situations of signal-controlled intersection in Harbin.
