Research on the Influence of Pitting on Transmission Error of Spiral Bevel Gear

Pitting is the main failure mode of spiral bevel gear,study on its effect to the transmission error of spiral bevel has great significance to the fault diagnosis of spiral bevel gear.According to the definition of transmission error,the influence on transmission error of spiral bevel gear with pitting and the transmission error of spiral bevel gear with no pitting,the variation of transmission error curve analysis under different loads and different positions are analyzed by using the ABAQUS software.The study found that,the greater the load,the influence scope of transmission that caused by the pitting increases,and transmission error absolute value increases.As the gear surface with pitting meshing into the pitch plane,the difference value between ideal transmission error of tooth surface and transmission error reaches the maximum value.As the distance between the position of pitting and the small end decreases,the influence on transmission error increases.
