Contact Analysis of Involute Spline Joint based on FEM

Based on the principle and contact analysis of involute spline joint,the contact stress are analyzed by analytical method and finite element method.It may be used for the check of spline strength and modification of tooth-surface as a dependable and reasonable basis.The result of two calculation methods show the tooth surface of involute spline is non-uniform contact loading along their length,the defect of the analytical method is pointed out.In order to reduce the pressure and non-uniform loading of involute spline,the tooth surface modification along their length is carried out.Finally,by comparing the analysis result of modified spline,conclude that the strength and reliability of modified involute spline connection is improved significantly.
