Studies on Competitive Advantage of 25 Glyphosate- resistant Cotton Hybrids

Compared agronomic characters,yield characters,fiber quality traits and other characters with Gmianza 1,Heterosis of 25 glyphosate- resistant cotton hybrids made by three glyphosate- resistant cotton materials with excellent synthetic properties as specific parents crossed with 6 non- glyphosate- resistant cotton varieties which were introduced from the Yellow River cotton area as another parent was studied. The results showed that: there was obvious positive competitive advantage for the traits of date of first flower,boll maturation period,bolling process,branch number, height of the first fruit branch,boll weight,seed cotton yield of Pre frost,seed cotton yield,there were negative competitive advantage for the situation of first branch,the plant growing period in almost hybrids. Most combinations' fiber upper half mean length and strength were better than Gianmianza 1' s,and the positive competitive advantage of above traits in these combinations were significant. 3 hybrid combinations with excelent synthetic properties and their yield competitive heterosis increased significantly and 4 hybrid combinations with competitive advantage in earliness traits.
