The Grey Correlation Analysis of Yield and Main Characteristics of Conventional Cotton

In order to clear relationship between yield and main traits of the conventional cotton. the autor took 19 cotton varieties from regional test as materials in Hubei province in 2013,carrying on the grey relation analysis of 13 main characters adopted the grey system theory. Results showed that,the correlation of main characters and yield was as followed: seed index(r = 0. 491) disease index of bell stage( r = 0. 430) lint index( r = 0. 404) boll number per plant(r = 0. 396) beginning fruit node(r = 0. 394) branch number(r = 0. 390) lint(r = 0. 388) flowering rate before frost(r = 0. 382) growth period(r = 0. 377) single boll weight plant height(r = 0. 345).In breeding and high- yielding cultivation of conventional cotton,choosing the higher seed index and stronger disease resistance of variety,at the same time,paying attention to boll setting and precocity.
