The Influence of High Temperature on the Substances of Osmotic Adjustment in the Leaves of Festuca arundinacea

A cool-season turfgrass(Festuca arundinecea Schreb.cv.Huntdog 5),which has heat-tolerance and high quality,was introduced to study its heat-resistance in the potted experiment.The split-split plot design with three factors and three levels was employed to study the effect of different treatments with different application rates of phoshorus potassium and plant growth retardant(PP_333) on the substances of osmotic adjustment of the tall fescue.The result showed that the contents of protein,soluble sucrose and proline were correlated significantly among 27 different treatments under natural high temperature stress.The contents of protein,soluble sucrose and proline in the leaves of tall festuca under the treatment of A_2B_3C_2(P_2O_5:A=60 kg/hm2,K_2O:B=140 kg/hm2,C =0.25 kg/hm2)were the highest,which appeared to improve its physiological status and in turn to promote its safe overaestivation.
