Recent Progress in Octane Enhancer Technology of Fluidized Catalytic Cracking

The catalytic cracking reactions of petroleum distillates and chief factors that influence the octane number of FCC(fluidized catalytic cracking) gasoline are discussed. Recent progress in the octane enhancer technology of FCC is reviewed. It is pointed out that the ZSM-5 zeolite for use as an octane enhancer of FCC mainly changes composition of FCC gasoline by shape selective cracking or iso-mcrization, thus reaching objective that raise the octane number of gasoline.
