Study on New Synthesis Process and Application of Diethylene Triamine Pentamethylene Phosphonic Acid

The new process and operating conditions for synthesizing diethylene triamine pentamethylene phosphonic acid (DTPMP) from diethylene triamine, formaldehyde and phosphorous acid as raw materials by one - step method was studied. The scale resistant properties were investigated. The optimum synthetic reaction conditions for DTPMP were as follows: mole ratio of diethylene triamine to formaldehyde and phosphorous acid 1:5.5:5, reaction temperature 100-105℃ and reaction time 1.5-2.0 h.Under such conditions,product synthesized had good scale inhibiting ability for calcium scale.
