Catalytic Synthesis of Benzaldehyde 1,2- Propanediol Acetal with H-4SiW_6Mo_6O_(40)/PAn

A new environmental friendly catalyst,H4SiW6Mo6O40/PAn was prepared. Benzaldehyde 1,2- propanediol acetal (I) was synthesized from benzaldehyde (Ⅱ) and 1,2- propanediol (Ⅲ) in the presence of H4SiW6Mo6O40/PAn (Ⅳ).The Factors influencing the product yield were discussed and the best reaction conditions were found. Experimental result showed that IV was an excellent catalyst for synthesis of the product. When the molar ratio of benzaldehyde to 1,2- propanediol was 1.0:1.5,the dosage of H4SiW6Mo6O40/PAn was 0.25% (based on the total mass of reactants),and reaction time 45 min,the yield of I could reach 85.6%.
