Study on Synthesis of n-Butyl Ester from the Byproduct Aliphatic Acid of Petroleum

The petroleum acids recovered from the refinery alkali waste are the mixture of the naphthetic acids and aliphatic acids.N-butyl ester plasticizer was synthesized from aliphatic acids,the mechanism and conditions of the reaction were studied.The optimum reaction conditions were determined as follows:the molar ratio of aliphatic acid to n-butanol 1:1.5,reaction temperature 80-130 ℃,the dosage of sulfuric acid as catalyst 0.3% (based on the total mass of raw materisls),reaction time 4 hours.The product n-butyl ester could partly replace the dioctyl phthalate plasticizer which was often used,the quality of the plastic product could meet the standards of enterprise.It can decrease the production cost of soft plastics,and it has good economical effects.
