Experimental study and application resersh of a new transfer structure on extension-story buildings

Composite truss transfer structure with web-type column(web-type column transfer structure) is a new structure where web-type columns are set up between beams.The function of web-type columns is to adjust the moment of the structures.It can realize reasonable distribution of moment in structures.It reduces the peak value of moment in the end of girders and makes the moment balance in the whole structure.This paper presents the experimental study of seismic behavior on web-type column transfer structure.The experimental results showed that the plastic hinges emerged from the beam ends in the middle spans of the frame structures under the lateral cyclic loads.The columns were yielded and the plastic hinges were formed in the first floor with the increase of loads.The failure started firstly in the beam normal section,the shearing deformation was presented after the structure yielding.The structure has approximate resistance of seismic to normal structures.The structural ductility coefficients are in the rational range required by the seismic structural code,in which the ductility coefficient is set to be 3.6-7.33.The allowable values of the lateral displacement and the drift elasticity-plasticity angle satisfy the requirement of the relevant codes.However,the structural ductility coefficient in the first story is larger than that of other stories.The lateral displacement stiffness is reduced gradually,which slows down in the process of loading action.The suggestion on design has been given.The percentage of reinforcement at the ends of middle span beams in the first and the second floors should be increased.The sizes of column section may be enlarged,which become the non-uniform cross-section columns.Pre-stress is applied to the first storey or many stories.The location and stiffness requirement of web-type column are proposed in this paper.This transfer structure is successfully applied to extension-story engineering of building.
