The influence of pounding of superstructure segments on the response of isolated elevated continuous girder bridges

Using the nonlinear time history analysis method,this paper simulated the earthquake ground response of two isolated continuous girder bridge structure in Guangdong Gailie area,and through the contact element method Kelvin model to simulate the collision effect of adjacent beams,discussed the influence of adjacent beam collision to seismic response of isolated continuous girder bridge,the results showed that under the earthquake action,the main beam with larger relatively displacement led to many collisions between the adjacent beams and had larger collision force,may cause the local failure of beam end,the collision reduced the main beam displacement,but the range was less,significantly reduced the relative displacement between the adjacent beams; the collision effect increased the seismic response of right beam continuous girder bridge middle pier,decreased the seismic response of other piers.
