Research Progresses in Treatment of High Salinity Wastewater by Combined Anaerobic-Aerobic Process

One kind of wastewater that is hard to be treated at present is high salinity wastewater.There have been many studies on the treatment methods for this kind of wastewater.This paper briefly introduces the progresses of combined anaerobic-aerobic treatment process of high salinity wastewater.Furthermore,the operating conditions,the treatment efficiencies and the engineering practices of combined anaerobic-aerobic treatment are discussed.It is summarized that combined anaerobic-aerobic process could treated high salinity wastewater effectively under appropriate conditions.The development direction of combined anaerobic-aerobic process is also pointed out.It is hoped that this work can provide beneficial data for the development of treatment techniques of high salinity wastewater.
