Influence of 3D Printing on Supply Chain

With the widespread application of 3D printing in the fields of medical system, prototype model and replacement parts, its market in the U.S. amounted to $1.71 billion in 2011. And the relative industry profit of it witnessed an average annual growth by 26% globally. This kind of rapid development trend caused the concern from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the P.R.China, as well as the journal The Economist.However, relevant research lacks in management circles in China. This paper first introduces the potential changes to 3D printing in supply chain, and then suggests researches on the influences of disruptive innovation to organizations and related industries in the current of technology innovation.
