Sedimentary facies analysis and discussions on the basin-controlling mechanism of the Upper Triassic Riganpeicuo Formation in Northern Gaize,Tibet

By measuring profiles of the Upper Triassic Riganpeicuo Formation in Gaize,Tibet,the main conclusions and results are summarized as following:On the sedimentological aspects:with the lithology,sedimentary structure analysis,the first member of the Rigain Peicuo Formation is divided into bathyal shelf facies to carbonate platform facies; the second member of the Rigain Peicuo Formation is divided into infraneritic carbonate platform facies, which is divided intoshoal subfacies and shallow gentle slope subfacies.By contrasting with stratum and fossils, the period of Rigain Peicuo Formation is Later Triassic.On the basin-controlling mechanism aspects:Later Triassic, the stress of the study aera has synchronous to the opening of the Bangong Co-Nujiang ocean basin and the basin mainly is tenso-shear structural.
