Experimental Study of Montmorillonite Content on Expansive Soil Properties

In this paper, we use common clay in Nanjing area and Bentonite with content of 95% to blend and prepare expansive soil.we study the relationship between montmorillonite content and free expansion,expansion, shear strength of prepared expansive soil through experiments. Analyze soil cohesion, internal friction angle of the eight kinds of soil samples with the variation of the content of montmorillonite.At last we do some reasonable analysis of the experimental results and provide a basis for expansive soil improvement.
