A Improved Segmentation Algorithm Based on Watershed

WANG Ping-gen;LIU Qing;School of Electronics and Information Engineering,Jinggangshan University;  
Based on an improved algorithm of watershed,an image segmentation technique which combined with mathematical morphology theory is proposed in this paper.The internal and external union sets of marker images are obtained by morphology opening and closing operator.Finally,the watershed transformation of modified gradient image is performed.The experimental results show that this method can effectively solve the problem of over-segmentation and can define the boundary precisely.
