Stereotype in Intercultural Communication and Its Implication for German Teaching

Anonymous questionnaire and interview are used in order to analyze the factors which affect the students 'German learning through understanding the interviewees' attitudes towards Germans and German culture.The results show that school education is the main channel for students to obtain the information on Germans and German culture,based on which cultural stereotypes are formed.In addition,mass media,campus life,parents and relatives are also important information channels.The conclusion can be drawn that the interviewees are rather interested in Germans and German culture,which will be helpful for them to form the cultural stereotype consistent with the objective reality.
