Distalization of maxillary molars correct Class Ⅱ crowding by Ni Ti coil springs with modified J hooks

Objective [WT5”BZ]To introduce an effective method for distalization of upper molars.[WT5”HZ]Methods [WT5”BZ]Eight patients (3 males, 5 females) with Class Ⅱ molars relationship and crowding were included in the study. Ni Ti coil springs were used to move upper molars distally and modified J hooks and Class Ⅱ elastic used in day and night alternately to enforce anchorage.[WT5”HZ]Results [WT5”BZ]The average distance of molar distalization was 4.08 ± 0.09mm (maximum 5.68mm to minimum 2.12mm ). The average rate for molar distalization was 1.60 ± 0.013mm /month.[WT5”HZ]Conclusion [WT5”BZ]Distalization of upper molars by Ni Ti coil springs with modified J hooks and Class Ⅱ elastic were carried out in the clinic. The movement of the molars fast and the anchorage was stable without side effects.[WT5”HZ]
