Experimental Study on the Stabilization of Arsenic-containing Waste Residue and the Treatment of High-arsenic Wastewater

This paper applies ferric sulfate(FS) and polymeric ferric sulfate(PFS) as the precipitating agents and takes two steps to treat the waste water with a high arsenic concentration of 6.4 g/L.The results show that: under the condition of pH=5,Fe/As(mass ration)=3∶1 and reaction time is 3 hours,the effect of preliminary arsenic removal by FS is the best and the arsenic concentration falls to 0.5 mg/L or less and reaches the arsenic content of the wastewater discharge requirements;under the condition of pH=5,the amount of PFS is 0.44 g/100 mL and reaction time is 2 hours,the effect of deep arsenic removal by PFS is the best and the arsenic concentration falls to less than 0.05 mg/L and reaches the arsenic content of the drinking water requirements.In addition,after the calcination of 700℃ and 3 hours,the arsenic-containing waste residue of preliminary removal meets TCLP leaching toxicity test and can be disposed safely.This experiment finds suitable methods for large-scale treatment of high arsenic wastewater and arsenic-containing waste residue,and the methods are simple and operable with good prospects of application.
