Total factor productivity for Chinese construction industry and its convergence trend

Based on the Malmquist index method,the paper analyses the trend and the discrepancy of total factor productivity in Chinese construction industry,and verifies the convergence trend of TFP by using σ-convergence test、 β convergence test and "club convergence"test.It finds that TFP of Chinese construction industry mainly arises in the period and its main drive is technical development,furthermore,there are spatial differences among the provinces.σ-convergence test shows that the gap of TFP in Chinese construction industry became lower firstly and then increased in the end.β-convergence test reveals that not only analyzed by stages but also taken the period as a whole TFP takes on a convergence trend,however,"club convergence"test is significant only in the East and Middle regions.
