PREPARATION OF TiO_2-MUSCOVITE NANOCOMPOSITE AND ITS SURFACE CHEMICAL FEATURES

TiO 2 muscovite nanocomposite is a kind of nanometer sized film material. Several kinds of TiO 2 muscovite nanocomposites (single smearing layer and double smearing layers) were prepared from aqueous TiCl 4 solution by chemical precipitation. The composition and surface chemical characters of TiO 2 nanometer smearing layers were studied by SEM, XRD and XPS. TiO 2nanometer grains are about 20~60 nm in size, uniform and clear. The surface of TiO 2 nanometer smearing layers is flat. It was found that Sn 4+ played an important role in anatase rutile transformation of TiO 2 muscovite nanocomposites by XRD and XPS. It was also found that there are Si, Al, K except Ti, O and Sn 4+ inTiO 2 nanometer smearing layers by XPS. Sn 4+ ions replace Ti 4+ ions. Si, Al and K diffused from muscovite substrates.
