EFFECT OF QUARTZ SILICA POWDER ON RESISTIVITY AND COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF INSULTING POURING SEALANT

In order to provide a scientific basis for preparation and application of quartz silica powder insulting pouring sealant,the resistivity characteristics of quartz silica powder and their effect on resistivity and compressive strength of the insulating pouring sealant were studied by using digital high resistance meter,homemade small electrode and WE-100hydraulic universal testing machine.Moreover,the microstructure of the materials was analyzed by using SEM.The results show that the volume resistivity and surface resistivity of quartz silica powder are both lower than those of alpha alumina and micro crystal muscovite,while they are almost at the same level.When the amount of quartz silica powder is less than or equal to 40phr,it has certain improvement effects on the volume resistivity and surface resistivity of insulating pouring sealant virtually;and when the amount of quartz silica powder is between 60phr and 120phr,the electrical resistivity of materials decreased gradually,without obvious disadvantageous effect.Quartz silica powder has a significant effect on the compressive strength of insulating pouring sealant because the compressive strength increases when the amount of quartz silica powder is under or equal to120phr.The active silica powder is better than the unmodified silica powder in the improvement of resistivity;it enhances the compressive strength and incorporation of insulating pouring sealant.
