Research of Driver Intention Identification at Intersections

LIU Zhi-qiang;ZHOU Liang;WANG Peng;NI Jie;School of Automobile and Traffic Engineering,Jiangsu University;
In order to achieve the goal of improving identification accuracy and time of driver turning behavior at intersections,a driver behavior adaptation method based on the profit-sharing was proposed,to identify driver turning intention at intersections. Based on experimental data from driving simulator about drivers' operation before intersections,constructed driver turning behavior model consisted by accelerator,brake operation and velocity information. Apply the profit-sharing technology adjusts the driver turning behavior model on real time,so that the model can reflect driver's characteristics. The result of experiments on driver simulator show that the recognition rate was 96. 8% at 3 s before the intersections and that at 5 s was 94. 1%.
