The innovation effects of university-industry collaboration on industrial generic technology

In the field of biotechnology,we measured the generic features of biotechnology patents by using the index of Mean Technology Co-classification Ratio and Mean Technology Co-classification Index. After the comparative study for technical generic features of industry-university-research collaboration( IURC) patents,industry-industry collaboration patents and industry application patents by the method of Propensity Score Matching,the effect of IURC on industrial generic technology innovation was tested. The results show that IURC has a significant positive impact on the generic technology innovation in the field of biotechnology,and there are significant differences in the innovation effect of IURC between different technology fields and different countries. The characteristics of different technical areas and regional policy differences should be taken into account during the process of IURC,so that we can achieve breakthroughs of generic technology to enhance industrial competitiveness.
