Zhang Qiuhang Zhao Ying (Department of ENT-HN Surgery,Third Teaching Hospital in Bethune University of Medical Sciences,Changchun, 130031)
This is a report of study investigating on stellate ganglion block (SGB) combined with acupancture therapy for patients with peripheral facial paralysis, through a comparison of effects of SGB and acupuncture on facial skin temperature of patients with peripheral facial peralysis and clinical observation of 33 patients with peripheral facial paralysis. In the results, ①the skin temperature in the face of affected side and healthy side were increased by SGB(P0. 05,P 0. 01 ). The skin temperatures in the face of affected and healthy side, and in the front of affected side were increased by acupuncture (P0. 05,P0. 01) after the treatment. In SGB combined with acupuncture treatment group.not only the skin temperatures in the bilateral face and front of affected side were increased (P0. 05, P0. 01),but also the skin temperatures of the above mentioned were higher than those in SGB group and acupuncture group after the treatment respectively (P0. 05 ,P0.01). ②In comparison of results for a effective rate,in SGB group, there were 4 cure(44. 4%), 3 efficiency (33. 3%) and 2 improvement (22. 2%),the total effective rate was 77.7%; In acupuncture group, there were 6 cure (60%),1 efficiency (10) and 3 improvement (30%),the total effective rate was 70%. There was no significant difference between SGB and acupuncture therapies(P0.05).But in the SGB combined with acupuncture group, there were 13 cure(92. 9%) and 1 efficiency(7. 1%),the total effective rate was 100%,and the recovery score was higher than that of SGB and acupuncture(P0. 05). These results suggest that SGB combined with acupuncture will play an important role for treatment in patients with peripheral facial paraly-
