Histopathlogical and histochemical studies on atrophic rhinitis in Zunyi: Preoperative group and postoperative group

Lu Zhongqi Liu Shaolin Li Dexiang et al (Teaching Hospital,Zunyi Medical College,563003)
The atrophic rhinitis's(AR) patients who used opentype store and were not cured by conservative treatment were divided into operative group and nonoperative group, with the normal persons as controls. Histopathological and histochemical studies were performed in order to seek the pathogenesis and the direction of prevention and cure. The results showed that the changes of preoperation and that of postoperation were significantly different in company with the extension of the duration of the time. The AR patients nearly recovered in six years after operation. But the recovered pseudo columnar cilliated epithelium still showed a partial shedding of cillis. The number of glands was increased in tunica propria. However, some cells of glands were arranged in bad order. Inflammatory cells revolved round the blood vessels (But they didn't occur in the controls). Although the endangium was not significantly thickened. For this reason, the patients did not fully recover from AR. On the basis of charactristics of AR in Zunyi the prephylaxis should be strengthened. However, the surgery may after all be accepted as a better way of AR therapy.
