The Situation Analysis of Forest Fire Control in China

From the beginning of 2009 to the end of 2016, the investment of fire protection infrastructure has increased and improved to some extent, including forest fireproof roads, fire isolation belts, watchtowers,etc. The forest fire prevention professional and semi-professional team covers 99.96% of the counties with the task of forest fire control. The total area of forest fire control by airplanes is 3.316 1 million km2. The annual number of fire cases decreased by 37.3% compared to the average annual value of latest 20 years(1988-2008).The important progress was made in managing fire by law and scientific fire prevention. Authors of this paper summarize the achievements made in the development of forest fire prevention in China, and put forwards relevant suggestions for the existing shortages and problems.
