PN Type Fire Retardant-preservative Compound

Yang Hongxian (Changchun Passenger Carriage Factory , Changchun 130062 )  
PN type fire retardant-preservative compound represents a liquid containing phosphor , nitrogen and preservative. Wood specimens treated with the compound has an oxygen index50 % . Weight loss in combustion of the specimens by crib tests tends to be stable at a rate below 25% when the compound absorption is more than 70kg/m3. Tests by apparatus of 45°inclined plane for combustion show that the fire retardant effect of the treated wood meets the hard-to-burn level . Weight loss of the specimens in toxicity tests on wood decaying fungi is less than 3% when the compound contained 2 % preservative ,which indicates the treated wood is capable of preventing decay and deterioration. Treating with the compound makes some mechanical properties , bonding property and moisture resistance of wood decreased slightly but causes no effect on it painting property and metal cor- rosion. The compound is suitable to treating wood for vehicle structure and other interior uses.
