Osteosarcoma of the Jaw Clinicopathological investigation and review of the literature.

Cao Haiguang Tan yubin Pathological office, Department of ENT, Tianjin First Central Hospital, Tianjin, 300192 Zhao Zhihuai. Pathologic department, Tianjin Medical University, tianjin, 300070.
Two cases of Osteosarcoma (OS) of the jaw were reviewed here to evaluate the clinical, histological and immunohistochemical characters. Essentials of histological diagnosis for this rare lesion were discussed here. The principal clue to diagnosis is disorderly arranged and undifferenciated tumorous woven bone and osteoid produced directly by anaplastic osteoblasts that may be possitive for ALP. The patient's clinical situation will be also helpful in diagnosis such as progressively facial swelling with or without pain, local invasion of the tumor, elevated blood ALP, and detailed radiological presentation especially with CT scanning.
