Objective:To study the expression of Leukemia inhibitory factor receptor (LIFR) in human salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma cell lines with different metastatic potential.Method: Salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma cell line ACC-2 cells and its lung metastases ACC-M cells were used as model systems to study the mechanism of tumor metastasis by using RT-PCR technique and immunohistochemistry method.Result: Down regulation of LIFR on mRNA and proteinlevels in ACC-M was observed compared to those in ACC-2. Conclusion: LIFR may act as a tumor metastasis suppressor in salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma.
