Clinical study of root canal treatment and restoration of tooth with immature dental root

Objective:The aim of this paper is to draw the experience about root canal treatment and restoration of residue dental root or crown with immature dental root.Method: 27 teeth with immature dental root were chosen. After irrigation with endodontics solvents, the dental root canals were filled with self-prepared gutta-percha points. The teeth were restored with post and core and metal-ceramic crown. The clinical effect was followed in 2 years.Result: The root canals were sealed well and 4 teeth failed for in lack of chemical irrigation. After 2 years, root fracture occurred in 7 teeth.Conclusion: It is necessary to prepare the dental root canal with chemical irrigation and self prepared gutta-percha points is fitful for the immature dental root canal. The key of restoration is to keep the residue of dental crown and prepare ferrule between the post-core and normal tooth tissue to prevent root fracture.
