Micro-tensile bond strengths of four adhesives to non-carious sclerotic dentine

Objective:To evaluate the micro-tensile bond strengths (mTBS)of four adhesives to non-carious sclerotic dentine(NSD).Method:Thirty-two extracted human teeth with non-carious,natura1 cervical sclerotic lesions were randomly devided into four groups and bonded using four bonding agents,PrimeBond NT(Dentsply),Contax(DMG),Xeno Ⅲ(Dentsply)and Clearfil TRI-S Bond(Duarary).Chrisma resin (Kulzer) was built up and then photo-polymerized. Matchstick-shaped samples through the bond interfaces were sectioned and then subjected to the microtensile bond test at a cross-head speed of 1. 0mm/min.Result:The mTBS(Mpa) of PrimeBond NT to NSD was 38.81±11.75,that of Contax 37.82±11.74,Xeno Ⅲ 29.55±10.25 and Clearfil TRI-S Bond 38.63±12.17.The fractured adheisive dentin surface was mainly a mixed failue mode.Conclusion:The micro-tensil bond strengths of four dentin adhesives to sclerotic dentin is different, the bond strengths of Xeno Ⅲ group was lower than the other three adhesives(P0.01=.
