Investigation of the caries prevalence of premolars and molars in 1020 orthodontic cases of permanent dentition.

Objective:To investigate the caries prevalence of premolars and molars in Orthodontic cases of permanent dentition.Method:The oral examination and the orthopantomography record before orthodontic treatment of 1020 cases older than 12 were investigated and analyzed.Result:The overall prevalence of premolars and molars was 42.65%, and the first permanent molar was mostly affected.Conclusion:Dentist should apply considerate treatment according to the orthodontic necessity and the characteristic of caries of premolars and molars.
