The effect of different infiltration method to the microstructure and strength of In-Ceram alumina base

Objective:To study the effect of infiltration speed to the microstructure and strenght of In-Ceram alumina base.Method:To observe the porosity of sample section which was infiltration in high and low speed with SEM,while test-ing flexible strength with three-point bending method.Result:The flexible strength was(325.84±13.07)Mpa,the grain in the sample in low speed increased to 3 μm~8 μm,and porosity was(0.25±0.08)%;while the flexible strength was(266.59± 21.85)Mpa,the grain in the sample in high speed increased little,which was 9 μm in diameter at most.,And porosity was(0.61±0.20)%.Conclusion:The flexible strength of glass infiltrated ceramic in low speed was higher than that in high speed(P 0.05),microstructure is more compact and the pore ratio of sample in low speed was lower than that in high speed(P 0.05).
