The investigation of malocclusion cases with Personality Disorder in clinic

Objective:The aim of the present study was to investigate a set of predictor variables of malocclusion adults with Personality Disorder(PD)and find out the effective ways to cope with these patients in clinic.Method:120 or-thodontists were asked to fill a questionnaire during the first provincial orthodontic conference of Fujian province,and then the information of the questionnaire filled was analysis.Result:82 orthodontists responded the investigation,37.8% of them had the experience of treating malocclusion adults with Personality Disorder.Among the 64 malocclusion adults reported,about 26.6% belong to Paranoiac PD and 40.6% belong to Mix PD;over 73.5% cases have the facial problems because of malocclusion;the chief complains of 64% cases were the cost of treatment and the outcome of treatment.Conclusion:Para-noiac PD and Mix PD are the main PD among the malocclusion cases with PD.Male,low education and economic degree,malocclusion cause facial problem may the objective variables of the kind of cases.
