Fabrication of PEI/PLGA nanofibers by coaxial electrospinning

Objective:To prepare a novel poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)/Polyethylenimine(PEI)coresheath structured composite membrane by coaxial electrospinning,evaluate PLGA / PEI fiber morphology and related properties,we provided the basis for scaffold on tissue engineering. Method:By using the technology of coaxial electrospinning,fiber membranes with shell of PLGA and core of PEI were prepared. Then we observed the morphologyo,detected the coaxial structure,investigated hydrophilicity and measured the mechanical properties of the fibers. Result:The coaxial structure fiber diameter is uniform distribution and the surface of fibers was smooth. The diameter,the hydrophilic absorption and the mechanical properties were different from fiber membranes with PLGA. Conclusion:The PEI/PLGA fiber was prepared;at the same time the fiber indicate the well prospects on the field of tissue engineering.
