Imaging evaluation of repairing rabbit skull defect with hydroxyapatite/geltin scaffolds

Objective:To investigate the ability of HAP-GEL/osteoblasts scaffolds to repair cranial bone defect.Method:HAP-GEL and osteoblasts were co-culture.The rabbits cranial parietal bone defect models were prepared.Respectively HAP-GEL/osteoblasts scaffolds and HAP-GEL scaffolds were implanted into the cranial bone defects area. After 12 weeks,the result was evaluated by gross inspection and imaging evaluation. Result:Blank defects were significantly ridiolucent area in the imaging of 12 weeks,HAP-GEL/osteoblasts and HAP-GEL scaffolds were low density area. Conclusion:The engineering bone constructed by HAP-GEL scaffolds and osteoblasts scaffold can be applied to the repair of bone defect in rabbit.
