The application of microvascular anastomotic device for free skin flap transfer in patients with oral and maxillofacial defects

Objective: To study the application effects of microvascular anastomotic device for free skin flap transfer in patients with oral and maxillofacial defects. Methods: Thirty-two cases needing free skin flaps were randomly selected in oral and maxillofacial defects patients. Their veins were anastomosed by microvascular anastomotic device. After free flap transplantation,veins were anastomosised by microvascular anastomosis end to end,artery was anastomosised by handwork technique end to end. Other 32 cases whose veins were anastomosed by manual anastomosis were selected as control during the same year. The statistical data of the time of veins anastomosis,thrombosis and the rate of flaps salvage were compared. Results: The average time of venous anastomosis was( 6. 32 ± 0. 86) min,which was lower than manual anastomosis( 19. 21 ± 4. 52) min significantly. There was no thrombosis,which was not significant different with the manual anastomosis( 6. 25%). One case venous blood flow was not smooth for the angled vein and the flap salvage operation was successful. The venous connector of all the free skin flap after microvascular anastomosis operation had not been anastomotic leakage,fall off,tearing,thrombosis,and so on. Conclusion: Microvascular anastomotic device in vein anastomosis operation for free skin flap transfer in patients with oral and maxillofacial defects is simple,fast,consistent with reliable quality and high clinical application value.
