Study on the influence factors of coping style in school-age children with dental fluorosis in Qianjiang District of Chongqing

Objective: To study the relationship between coping styles and quality of life of school-age children with dental fluorosis in Qianjiang District of Chongqing.Methods: Survey questionnaire and relevant information was recorded on school-age children with dental fluorosis.Questionnaire was conducted to collect the information of general situation,disease characteristics,medical coping modes questionnaire( MCMQ) and short form 36 questionnaire( SF-36).To compare the difference between children with positive coping scores or negative coping scores.In addition,we researched the correlation between children ' coping styles and quality of life by using partial correlation analysis. Results: The score of facing dimension was( 2. 38±0. 21),and the score of avoiding and yielding dimension was( 1. 72±0. 14).The scores of physical functioning( PF),social functioning( SF),role-physical( RP),bodily pain( BP),mental health( MH),role-emotional( RE),vitality( VT) and general health( GH) were( 77. 36 ± 8. 35),( 72. 63 ± 11. 47),( 75. 69 ± 13. 83),( 81. 26 ± 8. 46),( 82. 40 ± 7. 58),( 83. 24 ±18. 74),( 76. 26±18. 73) and( 84. 28±7. 66).The score of facing dimension was positively correlated with the health-related quality of life( HRQOL) score.The score of avoiding and yielding dimension was negatively correlated with the HRQOL score.Conclusion: Most of the children with dental fluorosis adopted positive coping styles that can improve the quality of life.More attention must be paid to children with over 5 years of disease,thin children and children from low income families. And to urge the family of children correct use range,change the staple food,stop drying grain by soot,drink tap water,ensure normal sleep time and receive treatment.
