AIM:To elucidate the expression of proapoptosis gene protein Bak in bladder transitional cell carcinoma and the significance of Bak in bladder transitional cell carcinoma genesis.METHODS:The expression of Bak in 49cases of bladder transitional cell carcinoma was detected by Streptavidin-Biotin-peroxidase Complex (SABC) methods.RESULTS:Bak immunoreactivity was detected in 27 out of 49 cases of bladder transitional cell carcinoma, the worse the grading and staging, the lower the presence of Bak;1 out of normal control , the expression of Bak in bladder transitional cell carcinoma was higher than that in normal control ( P 0.05).CONCLUSIONS:The results suggested that proapoptosis gene protein Bak are differently expression in most bladder transitional cell carcinoma,Bak gene may take part in the modulation of apoptosis in bladder transitional cell carcinoma and the expression of Bak is closely related with the degree of bladder transitional cell carcinoma tissue differentiation.
