Yuan Cheng,Wang Jingxiang (Department of Clinical Pharmacology,General Hospital of Jinan Military Command, Jinan 250031)
AIM:To study the pharmacokinetics of cefprozil in 10 healthy volunteers and 10 patients with respiratory tract infections after a single-dose and multiple-dose of SOOmg. METHODS:The cefprozil concentration in serum was determined by a high performance liquid chromatography method. Pharmacokinetic parameters were obtained by using PKBP-Nl imitate program, and were calculated on the basis of two-compartment models. RESULTS:- 15 -The pharmacokinetic parameters obtained from the volunteers and patients respectively showed:Tmax=1.43h,1.46h;Cmax = 9. 52μgml,9. 66μg/ml;T1/2β=l. 18h,l. 31h. The pharmacokinetic parameters obtained from single-dose test showed no singnificant difference between the two groups. CONCLUSION: With oral mutiple-dose of 5OOmg of cefprozil once over 7 consecutive dsys, the pharmacokinetic parameters on day 1 and day 7 had no significant difference. No obvious accumulation of the drug was noted in multiple-dose administration.
