AIM To study stability of enteral nutrition under the influence of stress testing.METHODS A high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) method with fluorescence detection for the determination of vitamin E in enteral nutrition was developed.A Dikma Diamonsil C18 column(150 mm×4.6 mm,5.0 μm) was used with a mobile phase consisting of methanol-acetonitrile(95∶5,V/V) for HPLC analysis.Sample solution of 20 μL after saponification was injected for HPLC analysis.RESULTS The content of vitamin E was easy to change and decreased more significantly due to high-temperature,high-humidity and strong light when the enteral nutrition was opened to the air.Meanwhile, the product was sensitive to temperature when it was closed.CONCLUSION The product is recommended to be stored in an airtight container which is cool, dry and dark. The product should be freshly prepared before clinical use.
