Analysis of antibacterial drug use in emergency department in our hospital

AIM To investigate the situation of the antibacterial drug used in emergency department and to guide clinical rational antibacterial drug uses.METHODS According to the same method and criterion,2 389 prescriptions were investigated retrospectively by utilizing the designed questionnaire.RESULTS The 41.31%patients had received antimicrobials involving 7 kinds drugs of 27 species.The 81.97%from them used alone,16.62%used dual therapy and 1.42%used triple therapy.The top three defined daily doses(DDDs)were azithromycin injection,etimicin injection and ceftizoxime injection,which still among the first-selected antimicrobials.The drug utilization index(DUIs)of 4 cephalosporins were greater than one.CONCLUSION The antibacterial drug application of emergency department in our hospital is unreasonable.Rational using of antibacterial drug needs to be further improved in our hospital.
