A Study of the Principles of Assessing the Life Quality and the Health Condition of the Elderly

Assessment of the elderlys healthy life quality is one of the important considerations in the policy making for the social provision for the elderly. Many countries are engaging in the study of the assessment of the life quality and health function of the aged, however, none of them is satisfactory and authoritative, for each assessing method has its own weak points. This article, combining the traditional assessment of health status and function of the elderly and the characteristics of the elderly population, including the ill and the healthy, tries to explore a better concept of assessing the health status of the elderly.
