From Uxorilocal Residing to Residing Both Sides:the Change of Uxorilocal Marriage in China

Based on the statistics and case interviews of Xia village in northern Hunan,it is found that the uxorilocal marriage has undergone a great decline and there are increasing more cases of residing both sides of husband and wife.The new type of uxorilocal marriage can improve the social status of the son-in-law,benefits the parents of both sides,provide with harmonious generation relation and family relation.This change is driven by the factors such as the family planning policy,woman marriage autonomy,rational considerations both of the young couples and the parents in the rural communities.
